Ron Taylor & Dan Drew both began their careers within the Firefighting community over 30 years ago as firefighters. Ron progressed through the ranks to Captain before transitioning to the world of private fire investigation. Dan took a hiatus from firefighting to join the Michigan State Police in 1998, where he served as a Trooper for 17 years before promoting to Sergeant in the Fire Investigation Unit. Dan continues to serve as a full-time fire investigator and instructor for the State Police, while Ron continues investigating fires in the private sector. Both bring a combined total of over 30 years of fire investigating and instructional experience dedicated to the field of Fire Investigation.

We began MFIT after noticing a void for high quality, continuing education and training necessary for fire investigation throughout Michigan. With several years of teaching and curriculum development, MFIT is preparing to launch something bigger than just a few classes to satisfy NFPA 1033 requirements. Stay tuned for upcoming training offerings and opportunities. In the interim, we would love to partner with your organization to offer customizable 4, 8, or even 16 hr training sessions related to fire investigation training.
